E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – Mo Douglas

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Mo Douglas. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and was fascinated by his compositional style.

The vintage sound proposed by the artist contains a very special charm.

Music that immediately made me get up from my chair and made me dance like Uma Thurman and John Travolta in Pulp Fiction. A hypnotic and repetitive cadence that manages to make you fly with your imagination.

While listening to The Most Expensive Restaurant in Portland I closed my eyes and found myself driving a convertible through the streets of Los Angeles in the 70s with a headband in my hair and bell-bottoms.

I think I imagined being in Los Angeles just because I’ve never been to Portland 🙂

Mo Douglas’s music brings with it ancestral vibrations, a sound that comes from afar and that manages to entertain you by following the rhythm of your heart … in this music I felt inside pulsating vital energy.

For a moment I forgot about everyday problems and I let myself be carried away by the beautiful melody of this magical track.

Go and listen to his music, it is worth it!

Vintage and Cool!

The new track from Mo Douglas, “The Most Expensive Restaurant in Portland” conjures a hypnotic rock nostalgia. Rollicking guitar twangs and a pulsing rhythmic fervor waste no time in constructing an entrancing opening, quickly indicative of Douglas’ master blend of garage rock, psychedelia, funk, and beyond. The suave aesthetic touts a cinematic allure with its flashing guitars and sense of steady momentum, echoing a Tarantino film or one of his ’60s/’70s inspirations. “The Most Expensive Restaurant in Portland” follows up Douglas’ 2021 album Fry The Onion Gently, released on Portland’s Ten Dollar Recording Co. (Mike Mineo)
