our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Mountain Mansion. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked his nostalgic sound.
The magical atmosphere created by this eclectic artist immediately fascinated me.
A distant melody that made me think of the summer that is ending when the umbrellas are closed and the deck chairs are covered with dust… when even the seagulls leave and only the beautiful sound of the sea remains.
A nostalgic song, like when you open a drawer and find yellowed polaroids that bring back memories of distant adventures. Your face is furrowed by a tear thinking back to those good times.
The melodies created by Mountain Mansion filled my soul and heart and for a moment I felt free and I completely surrendered myself to this beautiful music.

Under the name Mountain Mansion, Calgary based multi-instrumentalist Shane Turner composes dreamy indie folk inspired by his job as a Lookout on Boreal Forest fire towers and Rocky Mountain summits. His new series “Songs From A Fire Tower” was written and recorded at one of Canada’s highest altitude lookouts and captures his adventures in the remote Canadian wilderness.
