Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Narcissus. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I really liked the energy of their sound.
As soon as I heard the music of this band I immediately liked the sonic experimentation that mixes electronic sounds with real instruments creating an enviable balance.
With the addition of strong distorted guitars this music would remind me of Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails.
Hypnotic and unpredictable music that amazes for the ability to entertain the listener from the first to the last second.
The harmonic variations and the careful choice of sounds can not make this music monotonous.
The chord progression manages to maintain even that repetitiveness that slowly penetrates the skin and begins to tickle the nervous system and muscles that stimulated by these grooves begin to move involuntarily, and in a blink of an eye, you find yourself grooving.
Music that reaches your soul and does not leave you indifferent.
Cuttin’ Thru Red Tape is Narcissus’s Single Out Now!
Beautiful energy that drives you to dance!
Cuttin’ thru red tape is the new single from Mancunian electronica outfit narcissus and is released as a 2-track single in 2 different versions:
‘cuttin’ thru red tape’ feat. Becki Fishwick
a slammin’ Duke ‘n’ Bass mix by ’The Duke’
Both feature additional sublime vocals from the brilliant Becki Fishwick.
Cuttin’ Thru Red Tape is the follow up to narcissus’ sensational single lost causes which was co-produced by the band’s ‘funkle’, Donald ‘Dojo’ Johnson from A Certain Ratio.
Narcissus mouthpiece Ben Guy states:
“At a time when creative arts are being dismantled before our eyes by those that don’t understand nor care, cuttin’ thru red tape serves as a blistering call to arms & very timely reminder to cling on to those creative passions & pursuits like never before as it is these that truly define who we are & what we do. They are likely to have been there with you for both the greatest & darkest times of your life and so lean into them now more than ever as they will not let you down”.
