E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – Neia Jane

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Neia Jane. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked her energy.

This artist hides something fascinating and wild.

I immediately liked her style that exudes an irreverent spirit, a desire to do things in her own way without following the rules of a cowardly society.

I breathed freedom while listening to the beautiful music proposed by this talented artist.

A modern and fascinating sound sung with a lot of emphasis by Neia Jane. Contagious melodies that keep buzzing in your head.

The production is excellent and perfect for the music that is popular nowadays.

Although there are no heavy distorted guitars, the compositional style has in my opinion some rock and punk influences and it is precisely this particularity that makes the music proposed by this artist unique and intriguing.

Let’s keep her under our radar because this girl will surely make it.

Irreverent and Wild!

Glitter grunge songstress Neia Jane is an alternative rock singer, songwriter, and producer from Queenstown, New Zealand. Now based in Los Angeles, she tells her stories with her unique sonic blend of distorted guitars, dreamy synthesizers, and soaring vocal melodies. With grit and grace, she showcases both her intense vulnerability and the edgy rocker that is undeniably present in her music.

Born in Queenstown, New Zealand, Neia Jane spent her childhood among the Mountains. As an adolescent she was transplanted to Olympia, Washington, the home of the “riot grrrl” punk movement. A teenage weirdo, she threw herself into the alt-rock scene of the Pacific Northwest, playing in several bands and finding the power of writing songs.

At 18, Neia Jane relocated to Boston, Massachusetts. Out of the context of her hometown, she felt the freedom to explore musically. She began dipping her toes in several genres, including indie-folk and electronic pop. She found comfort in a blended sound she describes as “Glitter Grunge,” rooted in alt-rock, and infused with influences from pop, electronic, dance, and more.

Neia Jane’s debut album, “Magic and Honey,” was released in Spring of 2019, followed by the 90’s grunge-inspired “Lady In Red,” the synth heavy and self-produced “Break Ur Heart,” and the edgy and ethereal “Missing You Tomorrow.”
