Good Day Noir Family,
I already reviewed Ghosts of Our Former Selves in the past but they are out now with a new Album and I want to share my opinion about it.
As soon as I started listening to this great band’s new album I couldn’t sit still in my chair and felt like Tony Manero in Saturday night fever.
A contagious groove that prompted me to go out on the street strutting.
This music allows you to start the day well with the energy needed to face adversity and everyday problems.
In a period so difficult for the world, an album like this is therapeutic because it transfers positive vibes and puts you in a good mood.
We need to get back to dancing and luckily there are Ghosts of Our Former Selves who have the groove in their blood and share it with us all.
Their energy is our energy and these songs are a hymn to life.
Night Church is Ghosts of Our Former Selves’ Album Out Now!
Refined and Magical!
Night Church is the second album from London-based band Ghosts Of Our Former Selves. On the new record you can hear the band’s love of soul and funk but also their fascination with synth sounds and classic songwriting. While Marvin and Stevie might be a thread you can pick up, there are shades of Daft Punk, The Police and even Elton John. There is emotion in this record. The four years between first and second albums is bookended by the loss of fathers and the birth of children.
