Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Nordic Hamster. I discovered this Duo while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked their compositional freedom.
The sound proposed by this duo is really interesting, their Ep ‘Nordic Hamster’ manages to mix many genres and these guys are able to make them coexist in a perfect balance.
As the title says, this music takes inspiration from the North in some passages found shades of Norwegian Black Metal inside.
I saw myself walking through the dark forests of that cold and desolate land. In addition to black metal, I have also heard prog, hard rock, and metal.
Sometimes you are literally blown away by how the atmosphere changes…in a second you find yourself being chased by wolves and then a second later you are on a beach sipping a cocktail at sunset.
Very refined music where every slightest nuance is kept under control. A great work that I recommend everyone to listen to.

Nordic Hamster is a new musical endeavor from a pair of talented and seasoned musicians. The band’s introductory release is a musical tour de force that flows cohesively between genres such as progressive metal, djent and deathcore-type blast beats. This album is way more than just flashy string action. The pair delivers hook after hook, melody after melody, all in between beautifully crafted blistering guitars solos.
Hailing out of Central Florida, Nordic Hamster is made up of two Cody’s (Cody Nordine & Cody Hamilton) who have decided to do music for the love of it. These longtime friends got together on the premise of playing music, having fun with friends, and serving the fans of metal.
