our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Of Nørth. I discovered this Duo while shuffling songs on Spotify I really liked their compositional style.
I have to admit that I was moved by this song. A melody capable of speaking directly to the listener’s heart and soul.
The musical arrangements are fantastic and I felt as if this song were a drawing that slowly is colored with beautiful tones.
You feel that Of Nørth have a great compositional experience behind them as the chord progression is never predictable and banal and the attention to every slightest nuance is maniacal.
The production and interpretation are flawless… a perfect song.
While listening to the nostalgic melodic line of The Record I closed my eyes and found myself flying with the herons over the beautiful Scandinavian forests … and for a moment I felt free.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Of Nørth is an exciting project between danish producer and songwriter Kasper Holm Larsen (Kylie Minogue, Selena Gomez, Joy Crookes etc.) and Welsh artist Angus Powell. Kasper comes from a musical world with compromising as a key factor, and Angus comes from digging into your own musical universe. Their second single “The Record” is vibrating with the beautiful string work from world renowned violinist and composer Davide Rossi, known for his work with Coldplay, Röyksopp, and Goldfrapp.
