Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Our Man in the Bronze Age. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the uniqueness of their sound.
The sound of this band is very interesting, mysterious music that hides something magical.
A different compositional approach that is difficult to compare with other artists. This in my opinion is the strong point of Our Man in the Bronze Age, the originality and uniqueness of their music.
The voice, very reverberated and kept a little low in the mix, creates a unique blend where the distorted and grunge guitars dominate without however covering the melody in a fragile but perfect balance.
The chord progression and harmonic nuances are wonderful. I am very impressed by this band and I recommend them to everyone.
Hexed Endeavour is Our Man in the Bronze Age’s Single Out Now!
Unique and Fascinating!
Our Man in the Bronze Age first came into being in 2007 when five long time friends, tired of all that had come before, gladly left behind the endless thrust towards the bigger machine. Setting out with a collective, highly charged realisation that if music is indeed still to be made, itʼll be made exactly on their terms. In turn completely freeing up any preconceived notions or blinders of constraint, opening up the flood gates of sonic exploration, that continues to this very day!
Then what is the essence of Bronze we ask?…Well itʼs the crackling riffs, wizened bones, the driest of humour and the pact of togetherness, keeping the bands cosmic skeleton strutting its stuff, from year to year, gig to gig. From the cloaked figures of earliest releases, right up to this forthcoming second album – Hexed Endeavours. “Our Man in the Bronze Age are a skilful bunch, seamlessly drifting from apocalyptic guitar squalls to unbearably plaintive and sparse piano/vocal downtimes with breathtaking flair.
