E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – Pentral

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Pentral. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked their unique way of composing music.

I loved the sound of this band from the very first seconds.

A way of making music that winks at the past but at the same time manages to be modern.

The arrangements are refined and the harmonic nuances highly sought after.

The rhythm section impressed me, the drummer ventures himself into intricate rhythms and he is followed like a shadow from the bassist that doesn’t miss a beat of the kick.

This band comes from Brazil and it is known that rhythm flows in the blood of that country.

Even the guitars are fantastic and the riffs and chord progression are never predictable and banal.

We are faced with great musicians without a doubt.

The production is excellent and I absolutely recommend you to go and listen to them.

What Lies Ahead Of Us is Pentral’s Album Out Now!

Intricate and refined!

Pentral stands for Spirit in Latin, which indicates the kind of message this band tries to inspire – the need to transcend this material world through the power of music, without losing connection with reality. Pentral comes from Brazil, more precisely from the North, where the Amazon forest is located.

The band’s lineup—consisting of brothers Victor Lima (vocals, guitars) and Vagner Lima (drums), and Joe Ferry (Bass) — has never changed. They’ve been working together on past projects and now got together once again for their debut album.

As a Brazilian heavy power trio, their music mixes many sorts of global influences and tries to honor Brazilian groove and unique harmonies, progressive rock, metal music, atmosphere, and melody at the same time, inspired by Led Zeppelin, Queen, The Beatles, Genesis, Rush, The Police, Van Halen, Yes, King Crimson, Living Colour, King’s X, among others.

‘What Lies Ahead of Us’ sums up the years of experimentation throughout such parallel universes and the search for human awareness of the environment, peace, and equality.
