Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to PureGrand. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the mood of his music.
I immediately liked the vibes of the songs proposed by this artist.
A way of composing music that looks to the past and in particular to the eighties. Electronic sounds that made me think of the first Depeche Mode.
A very interesting musical approach that still manages to be modern.
I liked the vocal arrangements between the main and the background voices and the melodic construction is never banal and obvious.
The production is good and every sound element finds the right space in the mix and the songs flow well, entertaining the listener from the first to the last second.

Nostalgic and Vibrating!
PureGrand is Dublin born musician and photographer, Luke Faulkner. A self confessed pop music freak, he is fast making a name for himself on the Irish music scene with his distinct marriage of strong pop hooks, introspective lyrics and striking visuals which he writes, produces and creates himself.
PureGrand takes the sounds and aesthetics of the 80s and 90s and merges them with contemporary themes and lyrics.
Songs like the ballad “Flowers” and the beat driven synth pop tracks “Timeline” and “Such a Fright” earned Faulkner a place on the Nialler9’ Best New Artists 2020 as well as on Hot Press’s Hot for 2021.
Faulkner has performed at some of Irelands best homegrown alternative nights such as Glitter Hole, Avoca’s Queer Cabaret and at the Dublin Fringe Festival. He most recently performed with Jack Rua, CMAT and Gold Blooded Woman as part of Gotta Tell You, a pop event about the future of Irish pop as part of Music Town Dublin.
