The sound of this band has a typically English approach which I really like.
Irreverent and direct with slightly acidic sounds and an equalization that emphasizes the medium and high frequencies.
The melodic line is very catchy, especially in the chorus and it will echo for a long time in my head.
It’s amazing to think that REBOUND is their debut single as the song is professionally conceived both in terms of dynamics and production.
I couldn’t find flaws with their music and I think President Elect have a great future ahead of them. They are determined guys with a clear and solid artistic vision.
I suggest to everyone to go and listen to them, you will be surprised by their talent. A nice find to keep under the radar.

President Elect are an electrifying, alternative rock powerhouse, driven by Iggy Waller (vocals and bass), Vincent Barulis (lead guitar), Jude Crook (rhythm guitar) and Zak Waller (drums). With a repertoire of songs that merge captivating hooks with relatable lyricism and distinctive vocals, all whilst capturing an essence that is somewhat nostalgic of late 90s and early 2000s, President Elect are a striking collective that are set to impact the indie rock scene in the upcoming months.
Rebound is their debut single, following a positive response to a collection of demo releases such as ‘Addicted’ and ‘Last Forever EP’ in 2022. Recorded by Tayte Nickols of Mad Fox Studios in Manchester, this new release also signifies a new era for the band and a refined, ‘in your face’ sound. ‘REBOUND’ especially highlights the band’s 90s-00s influences, with references for the track including Paramore, Blink-182 and Placebo.
They have built a strong reputation for themselves as a tight, energetic and sought-after live act, notably supporting on a number of sold-out shows, as well as headlining a recent sold-out show at The Hope & Anchor, Islington and being selected to play this year’s Vale Fest.
The band’s infectiously fun approach to music and lighthearted personalities distinguish them from traditional hard rock stereotypes. Following comparisons to the likes of Swim School, Car Park and Coach Party, President Elect are determined to shape a legacy for themselves as an iconic, British, indie rock band. ‘REBOUND’ – with its striking, punchy sound and cheeky lyricism – serves as the perfect introduction to President Elect at their best.
