E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – Reflection Black

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Reflection Black. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked their way of composing music.

What an intriguing sound this band makes.

Music that certainly looks to the 80s with great enthusiasm with these beautiful synths and pads that recall that musical era. Even the reverberated drums bring to mind the videos where the snare drum was wet and when the stick struck there was that nebulizing effect … what a good time.

But this band manages to make that genre also modern and this is their strong point, in my opinion, to make past and future coexist in their musical vision.

The production is absolutely professional and the overall sound is very convincing.

An excellent discovery that I recommend to everyone as these guys have style and offer refined music.

Vintage and Magic!

Reflection Black is the manifestation of mastermind’s Elis Alex musical visions, originating from the urban landscapes of Athens, Greece. The band aims at delivering melodic and dramatic Goth Rock and Post-Punk style with a modern 21st century edge and the darkest imagery. Infused by Alex’s black metal past (Ravencult, Nigredo) the result is dark, fast and polished striking the perfect balance of lush synth lines and crystalline guitars hooks.

Originally conceived in late 2019, the Reflection Black vision was sharpened during the 2020-2021 pandemic were the period’s oppressiveness was transformed into the strangest inspiration. Drawing by a rich pallet of influences ranging from classic 80s New-Wave and Goth to Glam, Punk and Heavy Metal an abundance of tracks was quickly formed and it was time to hit the studio.
