E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – Shaggy Palms

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Shaggy Palms. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked his refined music.

The sound proposed by this artist is mysterious and fashinating.

Shaggy Palms has a unique compositional approach that brings with it influences from the past but manages to be modern at the same time.

The cadence of the new single Revenge is hypnotic and made me fly with my imagination. I pictured myself driving my car and wandering around the city one of those days when you just want to be alone with yourself.

The production is very good and the chord progression is innovative and manages to keep the listener glued to the speakers from the first to the last second.

The mix leaves the right space for each sound element and the song breathes well.

A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Revenge is Shaggy Palms’ Single Out Now!

Refined and Intriguing!

Shady disco vibes waft over a core of light punk and pop as Shaggy Palms swaggers onto the retro scene. Catchy hooks shake hands with a tasteful martini of musical drama all centered around the fictional embodiment of degeneration. When the grit of Boston spills onto the Cali pavement, next thing you know, you’ve traded your pants for a used cigarette and never felt better.

After a 12-year break from music, weirdo Bostonian Dave Vierling starts pumping out the best demos of his broken music career, sparked by the new found talent of vocal stylings/singing over his usual funky rock basslines. In the search for collaboration and a producer, Vierling reconnects with an old friend, Neil Popkin, who has a knack for navigating and forecasting trends in different facets of life, including music.

Vierling flies in to record at Popkin’s home studio in Cali where Popkin’s ability to finesse, improve and hone Vierling’s raw creativity has resulted in an innovative real-feel yet professional product. Vierling’s smooth, witty vocals combined with Popkin’s chameleon guitar and holistic vision for the project is a match made in degenerate heaven.
