Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to The Best Around. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I really liked their original sound.
This band produces really innovative and interesting music.
The compositional approach reminded me of avant-garde and surely these guys make experimentation their daily bread.
The Best Around are not afraid to venture into musical paths never traveled before and with intricate melodies and courageous harmonic choices, they always manage to amaze the listeners and keep them glued to the speakers from the first to the last second.
The production is a little rough but in my opinion perfect for a genre so original and different from what we are used to.
Definitely a band to keep under the radar because these guys are trying to do something different and fascinating.

The Best Around is an indie alternative rock band from Austin, TX that formed in the Spring of 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic. In order to maintain social distancing, each member recorded their parts separately in their own homes. Rarely collaborating or discussing how the songs should turn out, instead, files would just show up in inboxes allowing each member to decide what to add. Despite mixing up the order, this is how all their songs have been produced. Using each members previous experience most of their songs contain some elements of punk, post-punk, folk rock, synthpop/rock, new wave, psychedelic rock, garage rock, electronic and jazz.
