E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – The Hollow Roots

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to The Hollow Roots. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the 90s vibes of their music.

As soon as the first notes started to strike my ears I was fascinated by a way of making music that looks to the past and that winks at a rock of the late 90s.

In some passages, they reminded me of Stereophonics.

The voice with high timbre and a slight hoarse makes the sound of this band immediately recognizable.

It feels like these guys spent a lot of time in the rehearsal room to achieve this enviable sonic understanding.

The production is excellent in general, I’d just like to hear a little more energy by increasing the gain of the outputs to the maximum in order to make this sound even more rock.

The chord progression and the wise melodic choices make this piece very interesting already from the first listen.

A beautiful song that I recommend to everyone.

Addictive Rock!

The Hollow Roots originally formed to immerse themselves in the dense house show scene of Middle Tennessee in 2012. After making a name for themselves in the local scene they made the move Nashville, TN where they wrote and self-recorded a live, self-titled debut album at South by Sea in East Nashville, TN.

They would go on to tour on this album for the next two years, playing in 35 states and playing over 120 shows each year. The Hollow Roots made appearances at SXSW and were fortunate enough to open for some of their favorite artists like JD Simo and Mo Lowda and the Humble.
