Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to The Soviet Influence. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the energy of their music.
The Soviet Influence offer to us Beautiful rock music.
Sincere and direct music that does not fail to provoke with interesting lyrics.
An aggressive but refined rock that has a message and you can understand that you are dealing with an eclectic and refined band from the name chosen to propose its music.
These guys have a message and have chosen rock as a vehicle to make their thoughts known.
The production of their songs is of excellent quality and every sound element finds space in a perfect melodic balance that breathes.
Interesting is the chord progression that has the ability to entertain the listener from the first to the last second keeping you glued to the speakers.
The band sounds very tight and you can hear that they spent a lot of time in the rehearsal room to refine their musical understanding.
A very talented band that I absolutely recommend.
Oh Not Tonight is The Soviet Influence’s Single Out Now!
Music with a message!
Oh Not Tonight is the next single from our new album Socialism: An Introduction. It’s a song about the need for empathy and connection when our lives get really hard. As the band’s songwriter, I’ve been working to incorporate our political values more and more at the forefront of our music.
It’s always been part of the band (our first track ever was called Song for the Anarchists) but I wanted to make it clear that this is what we are about. I tried to weave in more than just straight politics, but also look sat the social aspects of revolution and socialism in terms of empathy and mutual aid. As with all our records my own history of mental illness had to play a role, and this song helps reflect that.
