E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – The Sully Band

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to The Sully Band. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify I liked the atmosphere created by their music.

As soon as I hit the play button I breathed a sigh of relief … why?

Because it’s nice to see that there are still people around who love to play with real instruments and not just with computer-sampled sounds and beats.

This music exudes truth, experience, and sincerity. The sound of The Sully Band manages to speak directly to the listener’s heart and soul.

You can feel the passion that these guys put into playing their songs, they certainly spent a lot of time in the rehearsal room to reach such an enviable musical understanding.

Their new album Let’s Straighten It Out! it’s a solid work that follows a coherent thread … a journey to rediscover the sounds of the past, that legendary music that has been handed down to us song after song.

A beautiful discovery that I recommend to everyone, this music has the ability to make you forget about everyday problems.

Let’s Straighten It Out! is The Sully Band’s Album Out Now!

Refined and Vintage!

The Sully Band, has released their debut album Let’s Straighten It Out! via Belly Up Records/Blue Élan Records. Curated by multiple GRAMMY Award-winning producer Chris Goldsmith (Blind Boys of Alabama, Ben Harper, Charlie Musselwhite, Big Head Todd), Let’s Straighten It Out! was recorded in only five jam-packed days, with “mostly-live” versions of carefully curated love-themed songs that made a mark when they were originally released and yet also feel relevant today.

With it, Robert “Sully” Sullivan and his bluesy, nine-piece beast of a band take us on a journey through the ups, downs, and all-arounds of love by way of 10 classic ‘60s and ‘70s soul, blues, and R&B tunes.
