Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Tristan O’donovan. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the mood of his music.
Tristan offers us music strongly influenced by reggae but I also heard some Noir nuances.
His music made me think of Jamaica and New York. Listening to his melodies I imagined myself on a beach in Montego Bay while smoking a joint but also in some unknown club in New York on an anonymous October evening.
This is the secret of the charm of the music of this talented artist, the ability to merge different worlds and make them fit together.
Excellent production and great vocal interpretation.
Even the mix is amazing because it manages to give the right space to each sound element and the song flows well and entertains the listener from the first to the last second.

Cool Innovative Sound!
Tristan is a singer/songwriter from Cork, Ireland. Tristan comes from a background steeped in music with his late father being a well-known musician and his mother a dance teacher. Tristan’s father passed away when he was only 12 years old which in turn made Tristan pick up his father’s guitars and start practicing and learning at home, these are the very guitars he uses today to write and play his music.
Tristan went to school in the little village of Schull Co. Cork and on breaks would sit in the music room with his friend Daniel and practice.
Influenced by Rock, Reggae and R’n’B. At the age of 18 Tristan decided to give up school, move out of home and follow the dream of becoming a full time musician. In 2020 Tristan built a home studio after moving out and started writing and recording his own music.
