Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Year Of The Fist. The Label DCxPC Live has just released a new Ep dedicated to this great band “DCxPC Live Vol. 4 Year Of The Fist Live At The Ivy Room”.
Let’s go back to the real music, let’s go back to the truth.
We live in an era where it has become very difficult to find real vibrations and to discover something interesting you have to go to someplace in the suburbs and finally maybe you find the treasure.
Luckily there are venues like The Ivy Room and record labels like DCxPC that keep the real music alive and introduce us to bands like Year Of The Fist.
This band goes straight to the point without compromise, sincere, rough, and emotional punk rock. I really liked the singer’s voice, the vocal timbre is very interesting and unique… the band below pushes like a runaway horse and the voice rests like a veil over the music giving the listener a sort of security.
A solid, close-knit band that offers sincere music. Pure energy that makes you feel the scent of freedom.

Year Of The Fist reaches from Oakland, California where there has been no shortage of great musicians and bands to play with or catch live on any night of the week. In 2011 these four friends found themselves in a position to play in the same band instead of different ones. Together their musical backgrounds spanned the genres of blues, dance, punk, country, metal and folk but all have the love for rock and roll. This has led them to open for a wide spectrum of acts such as L7, Save Ferris, MDC, 88 Fingers Louie, The Vibrators, Legendary Shack Shakers and Zeke to name a few.
With 8 years under their belt as a band, Year Of The Fist has released two albums with a third on the horizon, multiple regional and international tours and several music videos with no end in sight.
