our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Yuka Tree. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I love their unique approach.
Wow this band really offers something unique and fascinating. A mysterious, eclectic and absolutely original sound.
I was very impressed with their compositional style because it is modern but at the same time you can feel the influence of legendary bands of the past.
The thing I liked the most is the compositional style that manages to entertain the listener from the first to the last second with winning rhythmic and harmonic variations.
The singer’s voice interprets the lyrics with the right energy and the slightly hoarse timbre adds that touch of magic to the whole sound.
A band of pure talent that will surely get noticed by the masses around the world.

Yuka Tree are a post-punk, or in their terms, ‘Plant Punk’, band based in the North of England. Their debut single ‘Preacher’ was released on Manchester’s 42s Records in January 2020 with a sell-out headline show at the Eagle Inn, Salford, and was picked up by John Kennedy on Radio X. The single and the band’s live appearances on the Manchester scene landed praise by Reyt Good Magazine in their ‘Bands to Watch in 2020’ and by Music is My Radar as one of their ‘Sounds of 2020’.
Yuka Tree have supported touring bands across Manchester, Stoke-on-Trent, and Sheffield, including The Clause, SHEAFS, and LIFE. With their biggest live show to date supporting Narrow Margin announced for August 2021, the band are ready to pick up on their pre-pandemic momentum. Their follow up single ‘The Man in the Leather Laced Shoes’ is out now.
