E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – Andy John Jones

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Andy John Jones. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked his voice and sound.

What a beautiful voice that of Andy John Jones, a voice capable of great extension and that explores the lower tones in a secure way but also capable of venturing on higher tones always with extreme confidence.

A slight raspiness makes the vocal package truly captivating, a voice that winks at past sounds and it is surprising that it comes from a Caucasian man.

A blues and black soul this emerges from the songs of this talented artist.

Listening to him I imagined myself drinking rum in a forgotten bar in New Orleans on one of those days when you want to drown with your thoughts rather than save them.

His music brings with it stories of life lived and Andy not only tells the story but also acts as a narrator and you remain hypnotized to listen to him until everything ends and you press the play button again.

A talented artist who in my opinion is ready for the big international stages.

The production and the mix of his songs are very well done and honestly, nothing is missing to this artist to be able to collect the gold that awaits him.

Closer is Andy John Jones’ Single Out Now!

Beautiful voice for a mature artist!

Andy John Jones oozes soul with his Blues/Funk infused Soul Rock which has seen him winning the hearts of strangers as a busker on the streets of London. Learning his songwriting craft from working in McDonald’s, local pubs and as a labourer for local tradesmen, by night Andy John Jones would hone his live skills in the open mics of local boozers around his home city of Birmingham, UK.

His sound would evolve after moving to London where, come sun or come snow, Andy spent twelve hour days busking the streets of Westminster building a growing and enthusiastic fanbase. In December 2019, this fanbase crowdfunded the recording of his debut album A Night On The Boomtown, a Soul Rock study of a Friday night recorded with his band The Ginkgo Milk, due for release on streaming platforms in Summer of 2021. The thunderous three and a half octaves of his vocal range have brought him comparisons to singer-songwriters like Bruce Springsteen, Paolo Nutini and Jeff Buckley, and his guitar work has had him compared to John Mayer and John Frusciante.
