The first thing that struck me was the incredible voice of this talented artist.

A warm and slightly hoarse vocal tone that seems to hide a secret. With a voice like this, you can sing anything that will surely sound good.

Anders Jörnesten’s compositional style takes inspiration from folk music. The music of the past that was handed down from generation to generation only orally without ever being written, as still happens today in the Appalachian mountains.

The songs of Astrology are all solid and manage to touch the listener’s soul. The lyrics are deep and well thought out and the nostalgic melodies create a truly fascinating atmosphere.

I recommend everyone to go and listen to Anders Jörnesten’s music. His style reminded me of artists like Bob Dylan and Nick Cave.

Quote: “I’m a Swedish guy who has been playing guitar on a hobby level for much of my life. During the covid years with a lot of work from home, it felt necessary to develop creativity. So, for the first time in my life, I started writing songs and singing. The first songs were written in early 2021 and my first single Wild Wild Country was released in May of that year.

After an EP and a couple of singles, I am now ready to release my debut album Astrology. I’m inspired by folk, country, and Americana music and artists such as Colter Wall, Riddy Arman, John Prine, Vincent Neil Emerson, Willie Nelson, and Blaze Foley. But the music itself is not straight-out country, it’s acoustic classic folk“.
