Creature is 1.0.8.’s Single Out Now!
A song about discovering the incredible images of one of the worlds great war photographers Don McCullin, (check him out) who also made awe inspiring images of tramps in the East End of London during the 1960’s, and breathtaking portraits of the Industrial North.
A sun soaked afternoon’s walk along the Thames where for the first time I noticed the shrapnel damaged facade of the Tate Gallery, and was drawn to look inside where I came across McCullins work and the sculpture of the monumental sculptor Michael Sandle. One of the most memorable days of my life.
Written by Andrew Stewart, the finished track is the result of a collaboration with musician and producer Jason Odle, at Developing Sounds in North Yorkshire. Additional vocals by Scarlett Stewart. Mastered by Kevin Tuffy, Air Studios, Alchemy Mastering. The songs are often riff driven and sprinkled throughout with observations of contemporary life; giving a nod and a wink to the likes of Talking Heads, The Beatles, and Flaming Lips.
