Edward Scissorhands This Odd Fellow Is a Legend

One of the fictional characters most loved by the public is surely Edward Scissorhands. This odd fellow is now a legend.

The creator of this fantastic character is Tim Burton who felt marginalized by society in his youth. Edward mirrors his feelings of loneliness.

Edward Scissorhands This Odd Fellow Is a Legend

Tim Burton has always been a very controversial man. His artistic nature prompted him to be misanthropic. A boy who preferred to take refuge in his fantasy rather than face society.

Edward Scissorhands is the representation of this particular aspect of the personality of the brilliant American director.

In the 70s it would not have been difficult to see him walking alone in the streets of Burbank (CA). And it was during one of those endless summer days that Tim had the intuition and made the first sketch of Edward Scissorhands. After a while, the story also came to mind, and soon after the die was cast.

A scientist tired of being alone had decided to create a humanoid to have company in the house. Unfortunately, before finishing his work, the scientist died and Edward was left with scissors hands.

The role was played by Johnny Depp who was 26 at the time and in the cast, there was also a nineteen years old  Winona Ryder who played the role of Kim.

The two had recently started a love story and this film amplified their feeling and thousands of girls around the world began to dream. Their romantic affair will last until 1993.

Who knows, maybe this film has put a spell on them condemning these two lovers to troubled love life. Surely these guys have become two icons for the dark and gothic fans.

Going back to Edward Scissorhands, the film was filmed in Lutz, Florida, and had notable success. The house located at 1774 Tinsmith Circle is now up for sale here for $599.000. The character was so well done that it became one of the most requested Halloween costumes. There is also a female version of the costume here.

Sometimes we wonder if Tim Burton was inspired by Pinocchio in inventing Edward. Geppetto had also created a child from a piece of wood so as to have company.

For the hardcore fans who have been waiting for a sequel for years, last year there was a great sign of hope. In fact, the actor Timothee Chalamet for a Superbowl commercial was dressed as Edward Scissorhands.

Everyone has wondered if this could be the evidence to announce Edward Scissorhands 2.

We are confident that the sequel will be there one day as this character is so loved by the people that the big Hollywood studios will not miss the opportunity to make a few more dollars.

If it still hasn’t come out today, we believe that it is only for the will of Tim Burton who certainly does not run after money. This director is moved only by passion. We believe that he is looking for the right inspiration to give us another adventure of this fantastic character.

If you like gothic romantic songs we suggest you this one. Crow Girl by Edgar Allan Poets
