The enigmatic and mysterious compositional style proposed by this artist fascinated me a lot.

This music can speak directly to your soul. The chosen sounds resonate in your head opening you to ancestral visions.

Anthony Byrne’s music manages to make you fly with your imagination. While listening to his new single Exhale I imagined myself floating around the universe like the cosmic fetus of 2001 A Space Odyssey.

This sound seems to come from the future and carries a coded message.

We are faced with a great producer who is not afraid to experiment and take new artistic paths.

A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Donegal electronica artist Anthony Byrne is back following Chasing with an artistic prequel. Now based in Limerick, his music has been gaining a lot of momentum since his journey began in 2018. When he graduated from LIT earlier that year with a degree in music technology and production, he was destined for a career in the avenues of sound. Once his first single “Red Footwear” was out there, Anthony Byrne worked extensively on his sound by putting together well-thought-out and beautifully mastered productions.

Inspired by artists such as Leonard Cohen, Deptford Goth, Sinead O’Connor, Ry X, Grimes, and Lorde, it’s clear that Anthony’s cultural range is something capable of creating some fantastic songs. Exhale is written about the trials of depression and the suffering people endure when inflicted with this mental illness. The song explores feelings of shame and guilt alongside a sense of being alone. Dealing with these conditions involves a lot of self-actualisation and communication of abstract sensation and this track puts it all into music.

Mental health issues can take over the inner dialogue and create layered correspondences to the awareness of the moment. The track involves the layering of vocals and multiple placements of each section to identify with this exhausting and volatile mental environment. The entire song is written to run like a continuous train of thought that relentlessly pours sensation and description into the crucible of now.
