E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – First Frontier

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to First Frontier. I discovered this Duo while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the vibes of their music.

Honestly, as soon as I set my eyes on this duo I didn’t know what to expect but as soon as I hit the play button I immediately became a fan.

Their sound rocks and immediately convinced me. A direct and sincere rock that hits you like a punch in the face without many frills.

In this music there is everything you are looking for in a rock song. A beautiful rhythm, a beautiful guitar sound, acid and powerful, and a fantastic, irreverent and wild voice that speaks directly to your soul.

These guys have very clear ideas on how to propose their musical project around the world and have a solid and precise vision of their musical project.

A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Solid and Irreverent!

Birmingham-based garage rock duo, First Frontier, make spirited, upbeat music to move to and be moved by. They are Helena, pounding drums, and Paul, flogging guitar, with both sharing vocal duties; Brummie banter and Northern grit smelted down to forge new music, described by genuine human people as either neo-garage, post-punk and rock in many guises. But who really knows what genre is anymore?

H&P met in 2016 when the status quo of the UK was upended and found solace and normality in one another. It wasn’t until 2020 that this started to manifest itself musically rather than as general angst and occasional overeating. They sought the only outlet they knew that could bring us all together and spark joy: upbeat music. A glorious counterpoint to all the negativity and frustration. And thus, dear friends, First Frontier was born.
