Edgar Allan Poets – Noir Rock Band | Funk You is ndge's Single
Funk You is ndge’s Single

Good Day Noir Family,
welcome to Edgar Allan Poets indie music corner. A space dedicated to the best new artists and bands we find around the web. Today’s featured artist is ndge and his/their single Funk You.

Funk You is ndge’s Single

We are dealing with a very eclectic artist who produces music out of the ordinary.

A compositional style difficult to label that manages to entertain the listener from the first to the last second.

Surely ndge is an artist with a great compositional experience behind him/them. The harmonic construction of this song is perfect and the performance is intense.

This artist seems to be inspired by the past, the 80s, to compose his music. His new single Funk You makes me want to dance and in the melody, I noticed some very intriguing nostalgic nuances.

The track is accompanied by a psychedelic video that perfectly fits the atmosphere created by this tune.

A great find that I recommend to everyone.

Funk You is ndge’s Single

‘Funk You’ is the debut release from singer writer producer ndge (pronounced ‘nudge’). It was recorded at he/they’s home studio in Essex, England. This multi-instrumentalist producer has an individual style and attitude to music making. Not following the expected nor the formulaic yet willing to delve into the past to inform something new. According to ndge; “Music can perform many functions, not just entertainment, but sometimes having a message people can empathise with or feel for themselves. ‘Funk You’ was an attempt to get back at the bullies out there and to have some fun while doing it.”

ndge has made music before but never like this. He/they was content to leave music making behind and just be immersed in a 3,000 plus vinyl record collection at home. “I was happy losing myself in the sounds and genius of all those records from the last seventy years. I had no intentions of my own at this point”.

Then a couple of years ago the songs just started coming along, enough for an album; both short ‘singles’ and longer ‘album’ tracks. “The music made me do it!” says ndge. “I had to respect the songs but do it my way. Put a project studio together and start getting them down.”
