Good Day Noir Family,

our “Edgar Allan Poets’ Artists/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to The Quiet Drinks and their new album Grand Atlas. I found them on Spotify and I liked their musical vision.

The compositional style of this band is intriguing.

As soon as I hit the play button I felt the passion these guys have for interpreting their music.

The singer’s voice is fantastic, expressive, and sexy, a mix between Nancy Sinatra and Kate Bush.

Grand Atlas is a great album made up of solid songs that follow a coherent thread. The atmospheres created by these tracks are ethereal and crepuscular with nostalgic nuances.

This music manages to speak directly to the soul and heart of the listener.

While listening to the tunes of The Quiet Drinks, I imagined myself driving a convertible through the endless American roads. The wind on my skin and the warmth of the sun made me feel free.

Listening to this music is a truly beautiful experience that I recommend to everyone.

Peter Temple- Bass, James Thomas- Guitar, Songwriting, Roxy Seven on Vocals

Roxy: “James approached me at a gas station. We live in a very small town and he recognized me from a choir concert I did years (years) before in High School. The irony is that James’ son had been dating my sister for over a year- but we had no idea about that connection when he first approached me at the gas station and asked if I would sing on some tracks in a studio out in the woods (Peter’s studio). I arrived at Temple studios and instantly worshiped these dudes for their songwriting and production skills.”
