Hey Kid is Santiago Vancells’ alter ego, a 24-year-old songwriter born in Barcelona and currently living in this Catalan town, but he is absolutely convinced to move to the States once the pandemic situation is over.
His music is directly influenced by artists such as Rex orange county, Parcels, Boy Pablo, Bowie o The Beatles.
Hey kid is a project which puts together different styles by creating a unique sound that is able to show his own personality. His style is defined by a pop vision that is able to incorporate tradition and avant-garde together to show in a sincere way his feelings on journey moments.
His passion for poetry made him interested in starting a music career. He started playing Spanish guitar first, but then he experimented with the electric guitar in order to find out new sounds.
Hey Kid has been working on his first album “Café Society” for a whole year. The album combines different sounds and different registers together with different languages such as English, French and Spanish. Cherry Pie is his first single!
