Hide no More is Blair Jollands Single Out Now

Good Day Noir Family,
I already reviewed Blair Jollands in the past but this eclectic artist is back with the Ep by his side project El Hula.

Hide no More is Blair Jollands Single Out Now

The energy unleashed by this album got me hooked right away.

A journey through Rock, Grunge, Soul, and Blues.

The rhythm and guitar riff of My Home Town reminded me in some moments of Molly’s Lips by Nirvana. The addition of the sax is brilliant and creates a unique sound blend.

We then move on to a more twilight tune Hide no More which makes you feel like you’re in a bar in New Orleans.

Hey Satan instead returns to the vibes of the first song, with avant-garde nuances…this is a truly intriguing track. Nacked Eyes maintains a pressing groove from the first to the last second.

The leitmotif of this album is in my opinion a Noir atmosphere, a bit theatrical, sinuously fascinating.

In general, Blair Jollands’ compositional style reminded me of Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age.

A fantastic Ep that I recommend everyone to go and listen to.

Intense and Unique!

Hide no More is Blair Jollands Single Out Now

Hide no more, is the forthcoming EP by El Hula a side project by Blair Jollands, Jollands is a compelling songwriter and recording artist. Having won the admiration of both David Bowie & Boy George (who released Blair’s previous material under the name El Hula on his More Protein label), Jollands’ music communicates a paradoxical mix of melancholia and optimism that is hard to resist. Blair Jollands is often compared vocally to Nick Cave, Rufus Wainwright & Scott Walker, Jollands has received much praise from the likes of NME, Guardian Uncut, Artrocker, and more.
