It’s Official Tim Burton Has Chosen The New Wednesday Addams.
Her name is Jenna Ortega, she is 18 and is known to the public for her role as Annie in the supernatural horror film Insidious: Chapter 2 and as Mary Ann in the direct-to-video film The Little Rascals Save the Day, she first received recognition known for her role as Young Jane on The CW romantic comedy-drama series Jane the Virgin but her biggest success was playing Harley Diaz in the Stuck in the Middle series.
Now this very important new role that Tim Burton has entrusted to her could open the gates of heaven for this young talented actress. Let’s hope she manages to live up to the actresses who preceded her in particular Christina Ricci.
The Future of the Addams Family is a live-action TV series directed by Tim Burton, which will put one of the most beloved and iconic characters of the original core at the center of the show: Wednesday. As announced by Netflix, which will handle the distribution of the eight commissioned episodes, the official title is in fact Wednesday.
At the center of the plot will be a grown-up Wednesday who attends Nevermore Academy, where she will have to learn to simultaneously manage her emerging psychic powers and the new relationships that will arise outside the walls of the house.
As if that were not enough, the girl will have to take on the role of the detective, involved in an investigation in search of mysterious killers and shadows of the past. On paper, Wednesday has everything to turn out to be the perfect dark teen drama with a puzzle to solve.
