Good Day Noir Family,
our “Edgar Allan Poets’ Artists/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Jacob and the Starry Eyed Shadows and his single We Are Everything (and that’s alright) – live acoustic. I found his music on Spotify and I liked his compositional style.

The intimacy created by the songs of this artist is fascinating.

This sincere and delicate music made me think of a veil of snow that settles on the grass. The guitar arpeggio looks like raindrops falling into a lake and the musical arrangements, in general, are essential and refined.

I really enjoyed the effect on the voice, a voice that sounds dubbed and that helps to create a magical atmosphere.

Surely Neil Titterton aka Jacob and the Starry Eyed Shadows is a good songwriter and musician, in fact, his songs are produced and played entirely by him.

This artist is capable of communicating strong emotions. His passion for music is evident and his artistic maturity is already very developed.

If you are looking for music that makes you think and at the same time makes you fly with your imagination, I recommend this artist.

We Are Everything (and that’s alright) – live acoustic is Jacob and the Starry Eyed Shadows’ Single Out Now!

Intense and Mature!

Scottish indie/pop/rock musician and songwriter Jamie, known as Jacob and the Starry Eyed Shadows, writes emotive songs with anthemic choruses. Influenced by a variety of musical styles and genres Jamie’s defiant songs about life, loss, love, addiction and everything in between will have you loving what you have but longing for more.

“The title track ‘We Are Everything’ acoustic version is about overcoming adversity. It’s a defiant and philosophical song about long overcoming all, even death. The b-side track ‘The Forgotten One’s is about the disproportionate loss of life from certain ethnic and socio economic demographics during the pandemic. And in particular about Hart Island in New York, where mostly people from socio-economically deprived areas are buried when they die without the money to pay for a funeral or a next of kin to arrange one for them. It was heavily inspired by the images of its use during the first wave of the Covid 19 pandemic – the mass burial of victims in unnamed graves. So this one has a particular social commentary, but again is about defiance in the face of adversity”.
