E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – Jane Allison

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Jane Allison. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the passion that transpires from her songs.

What a beautiful voice Jane Allison has.

A voice that comes from afar and carries with it a life, a memory an eternal moment in this world. Nostalgia, simple complexity that hides the paradox and mystery of life.

Beautiful melodies of her songs and especially of her latest single Magdalene.

A chord progression that winks at a way of composing music from the past but hides in itself also elements of modernity, making this music unique, original and very pleasant to listen to.

The production entrusted to the wise hands of Alonza Bevan (Kula Shaker) is perfect. All sound elements find the right space and the song breathes and lives in a perfect balance.

Simple but very efficacious arrangements, in my opinion, perfect for this kind of music.

A nice discovery that I absolutely recommend to everyone.

Magdalene is Jane Allison’s Single Out Now!

A wonderful voice that carries with it beautiful stories!

Magdalene, a bohemian princess dancing through the summer of love, the quintessence of freedom and abandon, offering a window on a long-forgotten past, a reminder of simpler times. This is the first single off my forthcoming, 3rd album “Like Magdalene”.

It’s release has been rather protracted due to some unforeseen delays, the first of which was kicked off by the crowdfunding platform PledgeMusic’s sudden liquidation, where a few thousand pounds of much-needed funding was lost, followed hot on the heels by one or two other minor 2020 interruptions along the way.

This record is my third collaboration with producer & dear friend Alonza Bevan (Kula Shaker) and was recorded in his remote studio tucked away in the heart if the Ardennes forest.

The most breezy song off the album, with a recently electrified vibe of late 60’s Laurel Canyon, Magdalene promises a hope filled chaser of surrender to help you drift away, just for the day.
