Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Jess Porter. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the atmosphere and energy of his music.
As soon as I hit the play button I was immediately fascinated by the beautiful voice of this artist.
A unique, ethereal, precise, and solid tone that in some moments reminded me of Seal.
The new single Patterns is very interesting as it manages to mix and make coexist elements of the past with more modern intuitions that make the overall sound unique and innovative.
The chord progression is never predictable and banal and the continuous rhythmic and melodic twists keep the listener glued from the first to the last second.
A visionary and eclectic artist who has found his musical universe and who courageously follows his instincts.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Modern and Unique!
After spending a number of years on various musical projects (inuette, Catholic Guilt), Jess Porter returns to his solo project for the first release of new music since 2014.
Patterns is an exploration of the difficulty of altering our emotional pathways. The track blends synth and vocoder led melodies with a massive rhythm section and JP’s signature complex guitar work, and is produced by longtime collaborator Nick Russell.
JP’s last single Rearview Mirror saw widespread attention on Soundcloud and his dynamic solo shows continue to draw attention in Melbourne and beyond.
