our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Nicolaas Walle. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked his refined music.
I liked the sound of this artist from the very first notes, a compositional method that takes its cue from the past but manages to be modern at the same time.
I really liked the guitar riffs and the chord progression that is never predictable and banal and with rhythmic and harmonic variations manages to entertain the listener from the first to the last second.
The new single This Is Me Telling You from the album ‘Strange Time, Strange Place’ is an ideal song for those car trips when you want to forget about everything and you just want to feel free.
The production is excellent and in particular the mix that leaves the right space for each sound element and the song breathes well.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Refined and Solid!
Nicolaas Walle And Friends is a project led by Half-Irish, Half-Dutch Multi-instrumentalist and producer Nicolaas Walle.
It features instrumentation, composition and production (from recording through mixing and mastering) by Nicolaas Walle as well as vocal performances by various talented singers. It is inspired in concept by projects such as the Alan Parsons Project. The project’s intent is to allow the mixing of styles and for the style of the vocal performers to come through as well as Nicolaas’ instrumental style.
While Nicolaas’ strong suit is his electric guitar playing, remeniscent of players such as Gary Moore and Mark Knopfler, he also plays fretless and fretted bass, programs drums and some keys and synthesisers.
The style of this project in general attempts to bring elements from this extremely creative and imaginative genre into a unique, enjoyable, contemporary and accessible style by fusing the influences of those involved.
