Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to One Cure For Man. I discovered this band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I was attracted by the melodies of their songs.
From the first moment I heard One Cure For Man’s music, I was reminded of R.E.M. Perhaps because of the timbre of the singer’s voice, which approaches, in my opinion, that of Michael Stipe.
Also the melodies and the way of composing seem to have some affinity with the band from Athens (Georgia).
The atmospheres of their songs are very catchy and the sweet melodies accompany the listener in a wonderful sound voyage.
Ideal songs for those journeys where you just want to feel free and be with yourself.
The production of the songs is very good, I especially liked the sound of the guitars, warm but at the same time firm.
The mix is very well balanced leaving the right space for each sound element.
A mature band with clear ideas on how to propose his musical project to the masses.
Humble is One Cure For Man’s Single Out Now!
Intense music capable of reaching the soul!
James Parkinson returns with a fresh new single ‘Humble.’ The song is about moving on after death whilst remembering and learning from the past.
Having received support from the likes of BBC Radio Lancashire, Louder Than War and even members of New Order for his understated cover of ‘Age Of Consent’, the artist returns with another emotive and cinematic song that provokes thought and challenges the listener.
Quote: “Originally from the town of Barnoldswick in Pennine Lancashire, I grew up in a household where music was not only ever present, but also important.
Surrounded by my father’s guitars, eclectic vinyl collection and lo-tech recording equipment, music has always played a big part in my life – although it wasn’t until I was 17 that I picked up the guitar and began to dream of rock stardom.
One Cure for Man is my artistic platform. I use music, poetry and art to tell stories and reflect my view of the world”.
