Good Day Noir Family,
welcome to Edgar Allan Poets indie music corner. A space dedicated to the best new artists and bands we find around the web. Today’s featured Band is X: THC and their Album Say A Prayer.
Say A Prayer is X: THC’s Album
The creativity of this duo is undeniable.
An eclectic and varied compositional style that is the result of many inspirations. Some passages reminded me of David Bowie and Peter Gabriel meeting Depeche Mode.
A refined and modern musical approach that keeps the listener glued from the first to the last second to the speakers.
The maniacal attention to every detail and the careful choice of sounds manage to make stand out the music of X: THC from the crowd.
Say A Prayer is a solid album, where all the songs follow a coherent thread. The production and interpretation are impeccable and show that these guys have a great musical experience behind them. Experience that always allows them to choose the most suitable harmonic solution.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

X: THC is the acronym for X: The Human Condition
X: THC’s Chris (Ninjaboy) Liang spent his early years sojourning from London to Hong Kong, and from Borneo to Singapore. He continued his journey to Boston, where he studied Music Synthesis at Berklee College of Music. Chris, plays guitars, bass, cello and provides music programming for the NYC Duo.
Performing and perfecting his composing, recording, mixing and sound design skills, Chris eventually founded Audio Dojo in New York City; a full service, creative and strategic Audio Post House with collaborations with film makers and TV networks such as Discovery Channel, Syfy, USA, A&E, TLC, Amazon Prime, Apple TV and Netflix.
At the Dojo, Chris has also created award-winning mixes and sound editing for feature films such as Bodies Bodies Bodies, Lakota Nation VS the United States, Blueberry, Dead Pigs, Hold the Dark, Before I Go, Myanmar: Bridges to Change, Kiss Me Again and more. These critically acclaimed films were featured at Sundance, Tribeca, SXSW, BANFF and the Bushwick Film Festival. Recently, he provided sound design for a short film called Let Me Go the Right Way, directed by Destry Allyn Speilberg.
And it was in New York City that Liang met Michael Nova, the founding member of X: THC, who was in the process of creating the innovative multimedia music and film project X: The Human Condition, with a D.I.Y. (“Do It Yourself”) aesthetic that persevered after over a decade of, at times, seemingly insurmountable challenges.
