E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – SJ Talbot

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to SJ Talbot. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and was intrigued by her style.

I was struck by the voice of this talented artist. A deep and nuanced vocal timbre that manages to speak directly to the listener’s heart and soul.

A voice that manages to stand out from the crowd and that immediately distinguishes the sound of SJ Talbot.

The new single is a catchy and well-structured song where the chord progression and rhythmic variations manage to entertain the listener from the first to the last second.

Frankly, I found no flaws in this production, a pop song that has nothing to envy with the songs that dominate the charts around the world.

The production is excellent and in particular the mix that leaves the right space for each sound element and the song breathes well.

A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Refined and Mature!

SJ Talbot is a pop artist from Dublin. She has been a musician since a very young age, firstly playing piano and violin through her childhood and was enrolled in musical theatre school. She continued her music journey studying in BIMM Dublin where she majored in vocal performance and graduated in 2020. Since 2017 she has been honing her craft as a songwriter while performing as a session singer and keyboardist for various other Irish artists and bands. SJ’s style has been previously described as sleek, bright and passionate from her previous single releases.

Her latest single ‘Easy For Me’, is an electro-pop offering that peaked at number 6 on the Irish Breaker’s radio chart as well as being one of iRadio’s iLoveIrish tracks last July. This lead SJ onto being chosen to compete in the Local Hero radio competition as part of Irish Music Month which was run by Hot Press Magazine in October 2021. SJ has showcased her music in a number of popular venues across Dublin such as The Sound House and The Workman’s Club and is due to perform in The Well this April supporting Irish soul artist AIS. Audiences can expect a polished performance with feel-good soul/pop numbers layered in SJ’s soulful vocals.
