Sojourn is Grimm Winter’s Ep Out Now

Good Day Noir Family,
welcome to Edgar Allan Poets indie music corner. A space dedicated to the best new artists and bands we find around the web. Today’s feature band is Grimm Winter and their Ep Sojourn.

Sojourn is Grimm Winter’s Ep Out Now

The sound of this band is fresh and modern but in some moments, especially the timbre of the voice reminded me of Adam Duritz from Counting Crows. Even the chord progression of these songs is as refined as those of the band from San Francisco.

Surely Grimm Winter spent a lot of time in the rehearsal room to achieve this enviable musical alchemy.

We are faced with good musicians with solid artistic visions. All the songs in this Ep are mature and intense and above all follow a common thread. The lyrics are deep and the musical arrangements are impeccable.

The dominant atmosphere is nostalgia (apart from the song People Talking to People which is more irreverent and wild) which brings back distant memories in your mind.

These guys prove to have a practically unlimited compositional universe in front of them. I am curious to follow their artistic path.

A nice find indeed!

Refined and Unique!

Founded in DC, Grimm Winter is a symphonic blend of 90s alt/indie rock, punk, and folk music. With a strong emphasis on storytelling & modern day mythologies, evocative metaphor & melodies, the 5 piece band weaves together stories and songs that blur the line between literal and fantastical.
