Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Sunset Afire. I discovered this musical project while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the atmosphere created by these songs.
I was impressed by this musical work very much.
A really interesting and fascinating album that in each song manages to create different vibes but all of them are coherent with each other.
Singularity is a complex, mesmerizing sonic journey that manages to speak to the listener’s subconscious making him discover hidden parts of the soul.
The compositional style of Sunset Afire winks at the 90s. I heard Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Korn, and Bjork inside these songs. But Ed Parada, the mastermind behind all of this, has managed to create a unique style that feels almost futuristic.
His music lives between past and future in a unique limbo. The Sunset Afire album is a journey capable of taking you to a parallel universe.
You need to listen to these songs several times to fully appreciate the maniacal attention to every minimum detail.
A beautiful album that I suggest to everyone to go and listen to.
Singularity is Sunset Afire’s Album Out Now!
Futuristic and Innovative!
Sunset Afire was conceived in South Orange, NJ and is based is Brooklyn, NY.
“Singularity” is the seed revelation of the “Primary Colors,” a trio of story worlds that dive into the themes of God, sex, and death. Production of the record is a testament to the sheer will of producer/director Ed Parada to create art that is unbounded by commercial limits, art that seeks to reconnect to a new spirituality, to reveal the world as previously unseen, and to transmit revitalizing energy through the sonic medium.
By working with featured musicians on each track, the record pays tribute to the musical community that is often lacking in the celebrity-worshipping space of commercial music.
Ed Parada is the writer & musical director.
