our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to The English Rain. I discovered this band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the vibes of their music.
The sound of this band has the ability to put you in a good mood, a sparkling and easy sound that for a moment makes you forget about the problems of all the regions.
The production is fantastic, absolutely professional. You feel that these guys have a lot of compositional experience behind them because their songs have a chord progression that is never predictable and banal and they are able to entertain the listener from the first to the last second.
I really liked the blend of bass and drums that follow their respective rhythmic patterns like shadows.
The vocal timbre of the singer is also interesting, warm, and sincere, able to make you believe in the words of the lyrics.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Founded by former band members Steve Boom and Neil Steward, The English Rain started predominantly as a writing partnership. With Steve living in Brisbane and Neil in Perth they would share ideas across the Internet. Steve is the principal songwriter who would record the basic demo and then forward on to Neil with all of his notes of how he wanted the song to sound.
