Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to The Strands. I discovered this band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I was fascinated by the quality of their songs.
Good vibes pervade you when listening to The Strands. Bright sounds and melodic progression that put you in a good mood.
Slightly vintage keys that recall the bands of the eighties are combined with modern guitars. The drums push incessantly together with the bass showing good fellowship of the rhythm section.
The voice stands out for a particular timbre very interesting that distinguishes, even more, the original sound of this band.
The chord progression follows an impeccable dynamic path proposing also some unexpected variations.
A really interesting band and definitely to be followed.
The production is very well done with an excellent balance between all the instruments.
Nothing Else is The Strands’ Single Out Now!
Light voices accompany intense lyrics!
The Strands are a four-piece indie-rock outfit hailing from the working-class corners of the North East. Emerging onto the Newcastle music scene with their brazen single, ‘Made of Art’ , The Strands caught immediate intrigue of regional and national radio securing an interview/session on talkRADIO and airplay on BBC Introducing.
After securing support shows with the likes of Larkins, Cassia and BLOXX and playing This is Tomorrow festival last year, The Strands are now out with their boisterous new single.
