E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – Three Day Monk

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Three Day Monk. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the vibes of this music.

The first word that comes to mind when listening to Three Day Monk’s music is “refined”.

Melodic lines never banal, with continuous harmonic variations that continuously surprise the listener creating different worlds and atmospheres while listening to the same song.

This is the aspect that most impressed me about this artist, the ability to completely change the vibe of a song in a few seconds, but managing to tie the various passages in a very harmonious way.

Continuous twists and turns, as if you were at the theater and where the director has clear ideas on how to entertain and amaze the audience with continuous changes of scene.

The production is excellent, the sound research is impeccable and nothing is left to luck, each sound element finds its rightful place in this sound universe created by Three Day Monk.

An artist absolutely recommended for the ability to range between various musical genres in the same composition.

I Wish You Were Dead is Three Day Monk’s Single Out Now!

Innovative, creative and modern!

Inspired by Sam Beeton’s record club and a global pandemic to provide inspiration, Rock project Three Day Monk (Bedfordshire based multi-instrumentalist,

) put a halt to the debut album and began the seasonal EP project;

Following on from grunge/alt-rock, protest themed single ‘Aight to be White’, ‘I wish you were dead’ (out 18th January 2021) is once again recorded with Matty Moon [Engineer/Producer: False Heads, Lonely the Brave] and incorporates a cinematic-esque vibe, captivatingly narrating the psyche of the track’s character by use of misleading, unconventional arrangements and instrumentation. Some influences that shine on current & upcoming tracks include; Incubus, Ben Howard, Hiatus Kaiyote & Fantastic Negrito. Dualities of hard and soft, filthy and clean exist together on this track which embodies the undercurrent of any track by Three Day Monk: to create music with meaning.
