Good Day Noir Family,
our “Edgar Allan Poets’ Artists/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to SKYLIGHTS and their Album What You Are. I found this Band on Spotify and I liked the vibes of their music.

This band has a great composing ability.

I was struck by the quality of the chord progression and the obsessive attention to every slightest nuance.

It feels like these guys have spent a lot of time in the rehearsal room to achieve such enviable sonic chemistry.

SKYLIGHTS’ songs are mature and solid, very melodic and emotional. There are influences from the 90s for sure but this band has managed to create its own sound.

The production is very good, the mix, in particular, leaves the right space for each sound element and their songs breathe well.

An intriguing, sincere, and direct alternative rock without strings attached in typical English style. This music hides romanticism mixed with an irreverence that makes it unique.

A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Infusing brit pop and post punk influences from the likes of OasisCourteeners and The Verve, indie rock quartet Skylights are building a palpable buzz in the North. Following on from their debut single, ‘YRA’, which was featured on Leeds United 100-year anniversary video, Skylights have sold out headline shows at across the North and their gig at Leeds University sold out in less then a week (1000) They are set to play their biggest headline to date, Leeds O2 Academy (2300)

Their most recent single ‘Enemies’ clinically evokes the cathartic lyrical presence of Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie which has led it to be picked up by Radio X’s new music guru John Kennedy and a live appearance on SkySports show Soccer AM. Skylights are set to assert themselves as one of the most exciting rock bands in the UK.
